For ten years, Thailand was home. Last year, I returned to South Africa, and now I divide my time between the two coastlines, two cultures, two places that continue to shape how I see the world.
I’m a travel writer drawn to what lives beneath the surface of a destination. I believe in slow travel, staying long enough to notice the way the light changes in late afternoon, to learn the rhythm of a local market, or to taste the wine of a region where it’s actually made. The small details often tell the truest stories.
This blog is a space for those stories, and for practical guidance too. In Thailand, I explore local life, hidden corners, food, wine, and insights for living and travelling there. In South Africa, I focus on small towns, local stories, food, wine, and feel-good experiences that capture each place’s character. You’ll find essays, features, reflections, and guides — travel not just as a checklist, but as a way of paying attention.
Alongside this blog, I write a monthly column for Hua Hin Today, publish essays on Substack, and have been featured in The Thaiger.
Wherever my work appears, it centres on one idea that travel is about connection, curiosity, and presence.
If you’re curious about places beyond the surface, you’re in the right place.
